"My work relates to the various cultures that have shaped me as an individual and as an artist – my life here in the US including Brooklyn New York, South Florida and my formative years as a Flemish/Walloon in Belgium.

"I consider myself a rather joyous person. This state of being is challenged daily by world and local circumstances. I read, listen and discuss these events with friends but express many of my emotions through my art.

"Some of my present work is influenced by two recent experiences; one a visit to Jerusalem and Bethlehem where despair and depression are palpable. Another is based on a week of joyous celebrations in Hawaii."

Born in Belgium, Terry Thirion studied and graduated from the Parmentier School of Design in Brussels Belgium. She attended the Arts Academie in Leuven Belgium and Broward Community College in S. Florida.
